Door! - English

I’m always waiting
For that door to open
Pushing  pulling  knocking
And “Open Sesame” have been in vain too
It’s hopeless

That child’s one* is pink
They’re saying it leads to wherever you like
Well then, what colour,
What shape is yours, I wonder

Isn’t something inside?
Isn’t there some kind of hint
Rolling around?

Beyond that door there is
A shangrila no one’s ever seen
“It’s said that any dream will be fulfilled”
…in midst of this delusion
The keyhole too as well as the peephole
There is no single clue to be found
And yet  I -
Incorrigibly  far too serious -
Keep knocking on that door

Isn’t someone inside?
It couldn’t be  that it’s a pitfall or
A trap or the like?

Beyond that closed door
Lies a Gandhara so to speak that everyone’s anxious to go to
“It’s said that any dream will be fulfilled”
…is being repeated over and over again
But I know really
That there’s nothing on that other side
However  I
Pretend that I don’t notice it and
Keep knocking on that door

*[T/N: It can only be assumed that everyone has their own door. The literal translation would be “That child’s that”. Also, ‘that child’ is also quite literal. Usually, it is used to relate to a girl - in any case though to someone who isn’t present at that time.]
